Continued Striped mania

Hello! The weather is excellent here, I wish it would stay like this the whole time...the sun is out, and there is slight windchill...not too hot, or too cold ..just perfect.

I had some time to make a few cards, so sharing those.

The first one up is for a challenge, and I made use of my most favorite card themes, Yes, diagonal stripes yet again.

I chose a white base, and used a textured black card stock for the stripes. Once the stripes were done, I added my custom made stamps sentiment on a red panel. I added a chipboard mike and some confetti to finish off the look, its a simple looking card.

The second card is made on a request, it was a request for a baptism card...so kept everything white, just used the rhinestones for the cross, and added a silver ribbon with a bow. I used a dotted lattice embossed panel too...and the sentiment is computer generated.

Adding this card with our challenge blog at ATSM where the theme is CAS this week, do play here and visit the blog, the DT's have some amazing inspiration.

Halloween card

Hello!! I am blogging after a few days, was busy subbing full days for the last few days. I have been tempted to make few cards, which were sitting in my head for the last few days.
The first one I sit down to execute is a Halloween card. This is my first ever Halloween card! I wasn't going to make one, but my kids kept nagging me why I wasn't making a Halloween card for my blog...I never made one so I wasn't sure if it was a good idea to make one....but here it is...not sure if I will another one ;)

I chose a white base, and I had printed off the "ghost" and "BOO" using a Halloween font, and I had the speech bubble in my custom made stamps, so used it stamp on the "BOO" using a distress ink - brick fire. I added my white front on a black panel and adhered to the base card. to finish off I added few red sequins and some translucent wink of stella on my ghost - I know, many of might have a chuckle here, looking at the glittery spooky ghost. That's it! Hope you all like it, I think I did ok ;)

A close up at the glittery ghost!

Birds of a feather flock together

Hello blogger friends, weekend has kicked in here, and I am sharing a card since I have plenty of time today. My son is still not back from his soccer trip from China(he will be back tomorrow night), and hubby is working, and my preteen daughter is busy with her work...so mummy can do all crafting on a weekend, without feeling guilty of neglecting the family time ;) and I start subbing Monday onwards, so gonna be busy to craft anyway!

I made a simple looking card, but there a lot going on this card. I chose a vanilla color base and front to work with. I started off with printing the birds, using the font "birds", I chose the colors randomly for the birds.
Then I stamped the music notes, I bought from a local store here. I stitched a wire for the birds, to be perched on something. Then stamped the sentiment from STAMPlorations  - subway art builders. Lastly I decided to add the feathers once again from STAMPlorations - trendy feathers set. A few sequins to finish off, and added foam adhesive to lift up the front panel. Its a simple looking card, I personally think it came out well, and hope you all like it too.

Colorful rays

Hello!
I am back with a card, which I made yesterday. I tried something different with it.
I had used a scratch paper to create this, and I kind of like the results.

I started of with a white base, and then added a scratch paper panel, I scratched some lines across the panel, to reveal the rainbow of colors beneath.
Added my sentiment on vellum, the sentiment is from Hero Arts - sketched letters, used the bricks fire distress ink to stamp this. A few star blings to finish off.

I had kept the sketch the same, just changed the focal shape.

Muse
I was inspired by the sunburst pattern and the bold sentiment, and made a different card using the same inspiration.

CAS with Gold

My 3rd post of the day, I am not crafting a lot, just that I don't want to share too many cards in a post.

I just finished making this one, a simple looking card, I have done heat embossing for the first time on my card, I got the heat embossing supplies on Monday, and was waiting for the right project to start. So here it is :

I started with a white card base, added a golden card stock and again layered it up with a white front.
Few days back, I bought a card kit at my local stationary store, because it looked really cool, the banner"HAPPY" is from this kit. I added it with a golden colored metal chain. I had heat embossed "birthday"using gold embossing powder, this sentiment is from Avery Elle's handwritten notes.
Added few stars to finish off, A very simple looking CAS card with gold on it. hope you all like it!

Take 2

One more to go for the Runway Inspired challenge.

 here is take 2:

For this card, I started of with inking the base card to the edge, with red and black ink in a certain pattern. then I added a black panel, just randomly, nothing was planned beforehand for this card. Added another white front, and masked it, and inked the red ink in a fading fashion from top to bottom. I decided to distress the inking here and there to give a aged feel to it. added few sequins and tiny rhinestones to finish up.
The Sentiment is from STAMPlorations - Subway art builders.

Bold Stripes

Good morning blogger friends, its good to see a bit of drizzling after a very long time here. I hope you all are having a great weather.

I made 2 cards yesterday, and sharing those in 2 different posts. I made it for the same challenge, so will post differently.
I made it for Runway Inspired challenge, I am playing here quite frequently, I think I am missing something in my approach towards this challenge, my cards seems to fall short ;)..just my thought! I knew I was more towards soft and subtle colors, so this time I am taking a different route, I am going bold and out of my comfort zone, not going for perfection either.

This is the picture for this challenge

and here is my first card:

I chose my favorite diagonal pattern stripes to work with. I chose a bold red pattern paper from Christmas collection, paired it up with black stripes. Finished up with STAMPlorations stamp- Trendy feathers, and a tiny bloom, I just want the pattern to be the highlight here, so decided not to add anything else.

Simply CAS Birthday wishes

Hello everyone, A quick share, if you are looking for my ATSM DT post, please click here. I was thinking of this card ever since I saw the Less is More challenge on Saturday, but was busy with other stuff, so today morning sat down to execute this card.

Actually I am in no crafting mood today, my son is leaving for Chongqing, China for a Soccer tournament for 4 plus days, so I am a bit occupied with various thoughts. At least I am holding it pretty well, I still remember, when he went first time to his trip 4 years back, I was in tears for  all 4 days! I am such a cry baby MOM ;)

Ok now to the card, I have created it on my computer. I chose the 'Sewing Pattern' font to create the children silhouettes. I typed up 'Happy' vertically, and then birthday is aligned with the partying tiny kids. I added a twine to finish off. A very simple looking card, but I love it, hope you like it too!

ATSM #118

Hello everyone, its time for another challenge here at Addicted to Stamps and more. Today's theme is "holidays".  The sponsor for this challenge is Eureka Stamps, they are offering 3 free digis to the winner.

I decided to do a beach holiday themed card for this challenge.
I chose the sponsor's image to work with.
I started with a white base, and created a beach scene using stencils.
I had also added a tree stamp from my custom made stamps, but it is off to the edge, since I wanted to highlight the sponsor's image on this card. I masked and sponged the kite, with red pigment ink, and colored the bows with a blue and then fussy cut the kite, cutting along the string was very challenging, but yay I managed to cut it. I added faux stitches to the kite, and stamped a simple sentiment.

I have inked a sun, and some clouds in the background.

Guest Designer for CASology

Hello everyone, I am so excited to be a guest designer for CASology this week, this is my first time being a GD, and I am very happy that it is for one of my favorite challenge blogs!

This week the cue card is

This is the card I came up with!

I printed the sentiment on a white card stock. I  up-cycled few bamboo twines, which came in a packing, I used this to make a nest, it wasn't as easy as I thought it would be.  I decided to add a tiny red heart instead of the usual egg/s in the nest. And stamped a tiny bird on the card, and stamped it again on a piece of card and fussy cut to add it above the stamped image, using a foam adhesive. That's it, didn't feel like adding anything else on it.

I had so many ideas, but I kept coming back to this one, so ended up making this.

I am going to tell briefly, why I chose these words out of so many beautiful words for a home.

My hubby works for 5 star hotels, and back in time from 2003-2007, close to 6 years we were housed in his hotel. Now, these were business class hotels not Resorts. My kiddos were toddlers that time, and they were going to school. Every morning I had to take them to the hotel lobby to take the  school bus, around 6:45am in the morning. What I hated the most was that I had to dress up nicely, and look presentable early in the morning, just to drop them off. Every time I had to step out of the house , even for briefly, I had to look perfectly presentable with a smile, as I was passing by the public places of the hotel, and I bump into the staff, they know who I was! Not that I was a VIP, but I was an executive's wife! Very tiring indeed.... So when we moved here in 2008, I was over-joyed that I would not be staying in a hotel, but in an apartment, away from where my hubby works(trust me, you don't want to live where your hubby works, poor him - it was both home and workplace for him).
For the first few years when I used to go down to drop off my kids to their school bus, I didn't bother, if I was poorly dressed , I didn't have to look presentable all the time, my hair can be a mess and I can just drop them off and go back home. I WAS/AM ENJOYING TO LOOK AND FEEL UGLY!

All said, I do miss a few things from when I was living in the hotel - the Housekeeping and the Laundry service ;) !

This is my interpretation of the cue card, A home is a place where you can feel what you want - ugly, beautiful or anything, and most importantly be yourself! I think this make a perfect card for a family member.

Thank you for staying with me, even though it is a long post.

Thank you for stopping by, I really appreciate your kind  feedback :) Have a great day!

Purple and Silver

Good morning! Sharing two cards which I made a few days back.

For the first one - I chose a textured white card base. I decided to add the die cut scalloped piece, before that I masked the center and created a chevron pattern in alternating colors. Added a Purple cake in the focal point, and few tiny butterflies, and a purple lace to go with.
The sentiment is from Avery Elle - handwritten notes.

I worked with the given colors only.

Second card  -  This is a birthday card for a 2 year old. I decided to make a colorful and fun card, so I chose to do a shaker card with little fish.

I chose a blue card base, masked and sponged the shaker part in a gradient way. I added tiny foam fish, and bubbles, and few white beads to imitate the look of the bubbles.
A fabric ribbon above the shaker panel, and the sentiment is from Avery Elle.
