3 in 1

My second post of the day, and I am going to share 3 cards here, as I am gonna take a break during the weekend. My studies are picking up, and there is quite a bit to prepare before exams, I am not sure if it was a good idea to join college in my late thirties ;) Those who don't know, I am pursuing a bachelor's in education, I joined college for an year, last year. There is a lot of expectation from my kids, hubby, and my parents... never thought that my dad would check on me if I am studying or not in this age....lol.....anyways lets talk about my cards now :)

The first one is a one layer card, The colors and sketch are both inspired by challenges.
I chose the 3 colors from Color Throwdown, and stamped ME - Zenith shapes, the big bold chevron is also from the same set. I then stamped the arrow and the sentiment from Kaisercraft, and finally the bold sentiment from STAMplorations - subway art builders.
A very simple card with nothing but stamping.

The second card is also a simple looking card, I chose the doily again today. I used the cake from STAMPlorations - Sketched birthday, I stamped it with DI peacock feathers, and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder, and then I used the same ink to water color it, then I used Faber Castle markers to color the icing, and added wink of stella on the white icing. once dry, I fuzzy cut it, and added with some twine, and some embellishments in form of flowers ans sequins.
The sentiment is from Mama Elephant - water blooms.

The third card, I inked a white front using orange, indigo, pink, and pale ochre colors. I stamped the Me - Zenith shapes in black, and used the triangle to randomly stamp around.
The sentiment is from Uniko Studio - Simply said birthday.

Stamps and mist

Hey all, I am sharing a quick post. I made this card a couple of days ago. I was experimenting with mist here, it is a one layer card. I started with an indigo ink, and dabbed it on the edge, then I stamped a zenith shapes from ME and stamped in yellow. i used a tiny triangle from the same set, and inked up in pink, but before stamping, I sprayed some mist on it.
The flowers are also from ME but from a different set called water blooms, I used mist here as well, as you can see that the ink isn't very bright but kind of faded, this is because of the mist use, I stamped the sentiment from the same set.

Another take with doily

Hello all, just a quick card which I made yesterday morning.
I am using the left over panel from the die cut, which I used on my previous card.
Started with a white base, and I did some stamping using ME - freestyle florals, and added the doily, this time, only a quarter of the doily is peeking through, covering some of the stamped flowers.
Lastly, I added the inked panel, and added the tiny pieces of the die cuts which I was saving for a later use.

Our love story ;)

Hey everybody, hope all are doing great!

Yesterday night, my son finished reading a book, and was recommending highly to me, called "The Kill Order" by James Dashner. He used all different sorts of adjectives to go gaga over the book, and the word, "cliff-hanger" got me!! I LOVE to read, and had thankfully succeeded in cultivating this wonderful habit in both my son and daughter as well. I read a chapter, and even though it is not my type, but it is a readable book, will read anyway. After that, I was checking the blog yesterday night, and CASology's cue put a smile on my face....I just find it to be a coincidence that my son was pursuing me to read this novel, and the cue...both were connected in some way...... Well I am not the best story teller, hehee....but I knew what to make.

Ok onto my card now, I chose a white base, and the focal image was the one which struck instantly yesterday night, while assembling the card, I was looking for a card stock to frame it, and stumbled upon this pattern paper, which is full of words, and thought it would make a wonderful background for the focal image.
The front panel was as big as the card front, I was going to use it as it is but the background paper made me trim it down to a small size!! In my opinion all these words fit with the focal image for a story.
the focal image is computer generated, I left some space to stamp the tiny heart, which is from Paper Smooches -sweet hearts.

We are sponsored by the wonderful STAMPlorations for today's challenge.

I have 2 cards for today.
The first one is using the sponsor's stamps.
I chose a dark brown base, and a kraft front, I simply used white pigment ink to stamp the Trendy feathers. I added another smaller panel with feathers in black and two tiny butterflies, and the sentiment is also from the same set.

CAS with a doily

A very good morning to all.
I made a very soft card this morning, yes I am back to crafting in the mornings.
I wanted to make a card using the inlaid die-cut technique, and was looking at some word dies, and I found Paper Smooches, I totally forgot that I have 2 word dies from them ;)
I chose mostly white to work with.
I started with sponging a piece of paper in 3 different inks - pink, green, and a mustard yellow, and then die cut the word die, and just used the negative die here.
I die cut kraft and black color dies, and stack up the word together.
I added a doily to the card front, and assembled the die to another diagonal front panel, and added to the base.
I inked up a rose from my custom made stamps in pink, yellow and green , and fuzzy cut it to add, plus a few matching sequins to finish off.
That's it, the simple it looks, but was a time consuming card, but I have to say I am in love with the finished card. Hope you all like it too.

Here is a look at my inked and die cut.

Card Makers Corner #6

Hello everyone, its time to get to know another card maker, my apologies for missing out on the last segment, I was super busy with my house move that I completely forgot!! Anyways better late than never, I am back with the segment.

Today's card maker is very well known on the blog-land for her CAS cards, she is the best inspiration for less is more on cards, her cards are very simple and elegant, and I like most of her creations because of their simplicity, without any further do, here she is:

Sandi Munro from London Days

I had asked her the same questions, which I usually ask, and lets look at her answers :

1. Please tell us a little about yourself.
I am married to Callum and this year we will be celebrating our 10th Wedding Anniversary in September. We live in London-a city that you can never tire of. We love to explore the city as much as we can. I come from a very big family and feel blessed for this. Some of you may know my very dear cousin Lynn who is the person who encouraged me to explore the crafting world. Before this I had never done anything creative. I am now an addict!

2. What is crafting to you?
Crafting is my way of relaxing and when crafting my mind is focused on what I am doing and all worries and troubles float away.

3. If crafting was not you hobby, what else would be in its place?
When not crafting I like to walk in the parks around London-fresh air is another addiction for me!

4. Which are the very basic supplies you need to make a card?
Card stock, inks and a score board.

5. What is a technique you are not good and want to excel?

I have recently started to water colour and find this quite different to stamping and would like to learn more about this.

6. What is your best technique to you love?

I am happiest when I am just stamping and really prefer not to do lots of fancy techniques!

7. Which are your all time 3 favorite cards? (I know it is a very difficult one)

Here are my favorite cards :

Aren't these cards awesome??, I love the simplicity and elegance of all!!

8. What is one thing we don’t know about you?

I grow my own salad and veg! (I totally envy you for growing your own veggies)

9. What is the piece of advice fro crafters, whether new or seasoned?

Create in a way that makes you happy.

10. I know that all crafter are hoarders in some way, which one thing is in your stash and you can buy again and again? (card stocks)

Enamel dots!

I hope all of you had fun time reading and knowing Sandi a bit more.

Thank you for stopping by, I really appreciate your kind  feedback :) Have a great day!

Happy Birthday Sweetie

Hello everyone, hope you all had a great weekend! I am starting off my week in a special way, today is my darling daughter's 13th birthday, and my parents 45th wedding anniversary!!
My gosh she was just born, and started school, and is already going to be a 9th grader soon in few days time!! Time is indeed flying, 2 teens in my home now, I remember my teen days so well, can't believe that I now have 2 teens in the household!!

I always make them cards, this is how my card making started actually, making birthday cards, encouragement cards, or notes, I did all sort of things for both of them.

I have never made her a shaker card, even though I love shaker cards, and make these quite often, so thought of making one this time for her, and purple is her color nowadays, so used that everywhere. I chose a white base, and then used die cut from MFT for the front, and I used another same size white card for my background,I started with A sunburst stencil from Memory box first in a pinkish- purple shade, this is first time ever, I am using a sunburst in any other color than the sunlight.  I had used the small flowers and the french roses are from WPlus Designs - Embrodered bouquet, and the big blooms are from ME- freestyle florals.
I stamped her name using Hero Arts - Sketched letters, and the birthday sentiment is from Uniko Studio. I used  lots of pink and purple sequins and some dark purple heart sequins for the shaker part.
I know that she will love this card. I like it too, and hoping the same from you all too :)
