Hello friends, I am up with another illustration which I turned to a digital stamp.
Its inspired by lotus pictures, if you happen to follow me on instagram, you would see my love for lotuses during summers. I always capture numerous pictures of lotuses. It's a childhood fantasy for me, I always wanted to see and hold lotuses as a child but these flowers were available only in books to see. It was in the year 2003 the first time I saw the lotus up-close in our hotel residence, and I was so thrilled and bowled over. Though since then I have seen so many lotuses so often, but that fantasy part is still intact!
So I took one of my most recent captures of the lotuses from June, and illustrated one close to it.
The lotus, bud, and the lotus pads are all individual digital stamps, I just layered these together to create my design.
I have added 2 new pages to my blog, where you can see my designs as well as another page where the free downloads are available.
I used the zig brush pens to color the initial watercolor layer and then used the Prismacolor pencils to color and add details.
This coloring was done over the stretch of 3 days, as I couldn't focus on it. Partly because my body hates the transition weather and it throws me off balance, thanks to my hypothyroidism and I really go through bad brain fog and lack of concentration days, this has become a way of life during the onset of Spring and Autumn for me. As the days go by, I find my way back and get used to the weather changes.
Another reason is with the approaching of 8th October, the day my dad left this world, I tend to get sad and have no interest in crafting or anything. I can't believe that it will be 2 years soon since he is gone.
Anyways I was not supposed to sing my sad saga and distract you guys, but it's life and my blog is like my journal at times, so I do share my thoughts from time to time 😉
So let's look at the card and coloring pictures now!
I partial fussy cut the stamps from both sides and added silver glitter strip to the edges, used foam adhesive for the front. The sentiment is from Altenew.
