Lotus and bubbles

Hello friends, some of you might have seen my poppy and bubbles card yesterday on Facebook or Instagram. It was showered with so much love and the bubbles have once again got the people curious and requests were made for a video, which I already have on Youtube.

But I was so humbled by everyone's kindness, that I decided to make another real time video of the coloring. Do watch if interested.

After the coloring, I simply added the sentiment from CASual Fridays stamps using the perfect pearls. That's all nothing else is done on it.

Glowing lotus in dark

Happy Tuesday everyone!

I am up with another card using my lotus digital stamp.

I was inspired by my uber talented friend Pooja and the directions for the coloring came from my darling daughter, she is an exceptional artist, much better than me for sure because she studied art in school. She gave me an insight on how to achieve a glow, and I applied what I understood from her!

I will add the process pictures first then the card.

The initial watercoloring is done using the Zig markers. I have used a normal cards tock here, not the watercolor paper. This was done in the night, and left it for drying overnight.

I colored again using the prismacolor pencils this morning.

After the splatters I have questioned myself if I had ruined the piece.
Bit i had to remind myself that this picture is clicked on my desk, where the lighting is bad, so I wanted to finish the card and click pictures in proper lighting by my huge windows.
Quite satisfied with the overall card.

The sentiment might be a question mark for some of you, why is it so dull? I always put my perspectives on my cards. I thought a dim sentiment popping up in dark is better for overall feel and will go well with both the design and meaning.

Introducing Lotus digital stamp

Hello friends, I am up with another illustration which I turned to a digital stamp.

Its inspired by lotus pictures, if you happen to follow me on instagram, you would see my love for lotuses during summers. I always capture numerous pictures of lotuses. It's a childhood fantasy for me, I always wanted to see and hold lotuses as a child but these flowers were available only in books to see. It was in the year 2003 the first time I saw the lotus up-close in our hotel residence, and I was so thrilled and bowled over. Though since then I have seen so many lotuses so often, but that fantasy part is still intact!

So I took one of my most recent captures of the lotuses from June, and illustrated one close to it.

The lotus, bud, and the lotus pads are all individual digital stamps, I just layered these together to create my design.

I have added 2 new pages to my blog, where you can see my designs as well as another page where the free downloads are available.

I used the zig brush pens to color the initial watercolor layer and then used the Prismacolor pencils to color and add details.

This coloring was done over the stretch of 3 days, as I couldn't focus on it. Partly because my body hates the transition weather and it throws me off balance, thanks to my hypothyroidism and I really go through bad brain fog and lack of concentration days, this has become a way of life during the onset of Spring and Autumn for me. As the days go by, I find my way back and get used to the weather changes.

Another reason is with the approaching of 8th October, the day my dad left this world, I tend to get sad and have no interest in crafting or anything. I can't believe that it will be 2 years soon since he is gone.

Anyways I was not supposed to sing my sad saga and distract you guys, but it's life and my blog is like my journal at times, so I do share my thoughts from time to time 😉

So let's look at the card and coloring pictures now!

I partial fussy cut the stamps from both sides and added silver glitter strip to the edges, used foam adhesive for the front. The sentiment is from Altenew.

I hope you like my illustration here.

Yet another transformation

Hey all, I am up with another transformation today.
This image was also colored way back in November, and I just added the BG yesterday.
I masked all the lotuses, and used the distress inks to ink up the Bg and then added the stencil and white pigment to create the bokeh. I then added some splatters with white and glittery gold watercolors. stamped the dragonflies in the same blue ink for a faded look.
All the stamps are from Waffle Flower lotus set.
I kept it one layer, but added a gold glitter strip at the bottom for some interest.
