Glowing lotus in dark

Happy Tuesday everyone!

I am up with another card using my lotus digital stamp.

I was inspired by my uber talented friend Pooja and the directions for the coloring came from my darling daughter, she is an exceptional artist, much better than me for sure because she studied art in school. She gave me an insight on how to achieve a glow, and I applied what I understood from her!

I will add the process pictures first then the card.

The initial watercoloring is done using the Zig markers. I have used a normal cards tock here, not the watercolor paper. This was done in the night, and left it for drying overnight.

I colored again using the prismacolor pencils this morning.

After the splatters I have questioned myself if I had ruined the piece.
Bit i had to remind myself that this picture is clicked on my desk, where the lighting is bad, so I wanted to finish the card and click pictures in proper lighting by my huge windows.
Quite satisfied with the overall card.

The sentiment might be a question mark for some of you, why is it so dull? I always put my perspectives on my cards. I thought a dim sentiment popping up in dark is better for overall feel and will go well with both the design and meaning.

  1. Its looking gorgeous! It does look like the flowers are glowing from within the darkenss, so the effect is completely achieved! Yes, I did like the look of the dull sentiment too.
