Blue fun

Sharing a quick and simple card, yes made it inspired by couple of challenges.
I had up cycled the navy blue paper,  its a coincidence that I used the same paper for the RIC challenge before I left for my holidays, and I am playing here again with the same ;)

Ombre flowers and chevrons

Things are settling well here at home after a 6 week break...gearing up for the upcoming academic year which will kick in Monday onwards.  Amidst running errands and tending household chores, I managed to squeeze in a MUST relaxing time by making a card this afternoon after lunch.

 I made this card by combining a few challenges together.
For this, I sponged red, orange, and yellow ink creating an ombre and added a flower and chevron stencil to add more ink in the same order.
To finish off I added a red beaded twine and stamped the sentiment from STAMPlorations.

Fairy magic

I am sharing a quick post. A simple card I made for CASOLOGY.
I didn't realize that the deadline is in few hours, this weeks cue word is magic.  For me magic is all about Disney fairies,  specially Tinkerbell. I just love her,  I have a washi tape designed after the Tinkerbell fairies,  so I used that on my card.
A simple sentiment, which is sort of true in some ways ;)
I sponged underneath the sentiment panel, and added some translucent glitter to give a pixie feel to the card. Kept it real simple.

Weaved cards

I am back home from India after spending 6 weeks away from my craft supplies...its great to be back, I have not just returned to my craft supplies,  but also to the daily chores of the, "lady of the house" ;)...the entire household looks like we have relocated to a new home...will have to bring everything in order before my kiddos helping hands get back to school next Monday!!!

Ok now to the cards. I am sharing two cards today. I had used weaving on both the cards. The first one up is a simple weaved card.
The colors and layout both are inspired by two challenges.

I chose to work with white, I added a white panel, which is cut out in 3 different rectangular sizes. 

Chose blue and orange strips to do the weaving. I sponged the top and panel with a blue and orange ink and finishing it off with my custom made stamps, and a few blings.

The weaving pattern has small squares on it, and the front panel consists of three different rectangles.

The Second one up is a very complicated weaved card.

It is actually a weaved heart pocket, to which I had modified into a card.

You need to weave the heart pocket first, and then I simply(not really :) ) cut one end to open up, and adhered it to a heart card base.

I added some punched hearts, and stitches, and another heart with a ribbon bow as embellishments

I took pictures with two different backgrounds!

This card can stand on its own, but this is how it looks, kind of sideways.

Since I couldn't take a picture of the weaving, I am sharing my practice weaved pocket, this is how it looks - no joints, it is a single weaved pocket.

for this card, I just slit one side up to open it.

ATSM #108

I am sharing a simple card for as my DT project at ATSM, today's challenge is 'addicted to holidays', so I had made a Christmas card, based on a white Christmas.

It is a single layered card, chose white card stock, and added some glittered snowflakes, and a white angel, along with a simple sentiment.

I am sharing a useful tip for adding glitter to your projects, using this technique, ensure that the glitter is adhered perfectly to your project, without falling off.

The process

Take the desired card stock you want to work with, then add some double sided tape to it, and if you are die cutting it or punching it, whatever it is go ahead and do that. Once you cut the shape, pull off the double sided tape paper and add glitter tot he adhesive side. That's it.

Purple feast

Exactly 10 days left to wind up our holiday in India, and to get back to our home in Macau. I feel deprived of my crafting!! Nevertheless, I have tried to make couple of cards with the bare minimum supplies I have on my hand here in my holiday home. If you had seen my last post, you would know that I have only purple textured card stock and a blue card stock only, so I chose purple to do these cards, and I finished the purple card stock - no more , only blue left!

The first one up is a very simple card, I just stamped the sentiment from  my custom made stamps here, and stitched some stripes! Yes, my daughter's hobby kit came in handy for the embroidery threads :) i am one of those moms who buy plenty of books and hobby kits for my kids, LOL never thought that I was going to use any of those!

I chose black and pink to do the stitching.

Very satisfied with the card!

 

Piercing holes for stitching was a huge challenge, as I don't have anything to pierce a hole without ruining the card stock. I have a tiny scissorshere, which I used to trim the card stocks too, so I used the same scissors to carefully pierce some holes on the card *phew*

My daughter's hobby kit, which came in handy for me :)

The second one I up cycled some images from some old books, and stamped the sentiment, I stamped in an inclined way to go with the butterfly hands! I used my daughter's black marker to color around on the butterfly image.

Its a super simple card!

Shaped card

I thought of sharing a previously made shape card,  which is apparently sitting in my pictures collections. So thought of linking it to Virginia's View Challenge.

This card was made for my friend Grace, it was from a couple girls together, so shaped cards are great, if you want to write a  group message.

The sentiment is typed on computer. The hexagonal fold took forever to do. Seriously it took me 3 tries and 3 hours to just get the perfect fold.

Saving a template for future uses to make my life easier!

The card front, I just added a diecut leaves, and a sheer bloom, a green twine,  and few rhinestones and distressed the edges in green ink.

the back side, I stamped each trait of the sentiment on each petal, and distressed the edges in pink ink, and added stitches.

The inside - About 8 girls wrote in this card, each petal for individual message.
