Back after 2 months!

Hey everyone, I am back to my card making and blogging after 2 long months. It has been a busy 2 months, went in for an unexpected minor surgery, right at the beginning of my holidays, and then the college and studies were going on so rigorously that I didn't have much time to look at the blog as well. Finally, I am done with all my exams, and the wait for the results has began already ;)

I am a bit all over the place, running errands for groceries, stationary, and school uniforms for the soon to be starting school year for kiddos, but was able to sit and make a card yesterday night. Nothing fancy, made 2 simple ones, I think I am all rusted, need to get my mojo back slowly.

The first one up is a very simple one layer card, with a single stamp, and few rhine stones, with a gentle touch of some blue pigment ink. I don't know the stamp company name, but I do know that it is a very old stamp.

I had absolutely missed playing here for the last few weeks, glad am able to join this week!

Playing with a simple stamp, I think Bingo is perfect to interpret this weeks cue.

The second one is also almost one layer, but a paper strip is added. I started with masking the card diagonally, and I chose the chevrons from Kaisercraft and stamped diagonally in a panel, and added a strip of pattern paper to give a border, I used distress inks for my stamping, crushed olives, riped permisson.....gosh can't recall the names of the other two inks ;) I really need to sit and craft everyday.....this is bad, I even forgot the names of the inks!!
I added some splatters using the same inks, and a few rhine stones, the sentiment is from Uniko studio - Simply said birthdays.

Flag and flowers

Good morning! Its a grey and gloomy morning here, the winters are surely fast approaching! As I write I do see the sunlight seeping through, so its gonna be a fine day hopefully! as long as I can see a bright day, I am good.

Sharing 2 CAS cards, which I made yesterday, I worked half day in the morning and came back during lunch, and needed this relaxing time, so did crafting of course!

The first card up is a flowers card. I chose a white base as always, I chose the pattern paper from Spring collection to do the flowers and leaves, just ran through my sizziz using the thinlits, and arranged it on the card. I stamped the sentiment on vellum, it kind of looks faded in the picture, but it really is visible pretty well. I wanted to give a  soft look to the sentiment, so I didn't bother to emboss it. The sentiment is from Kaisercraft mini stamps.

A close up at the flowers and the leaves, I did add few blings to finish off.

The second card up is also a simple card with a white base. I stamped the chevrons from Kaisercraft, and then added a red strip from the spring collection pattern paper, this paper also has chevrons, I am not sure if you can see it though! I think it is visible fairly. I stamped the sentiment from Kaisercraft, and heat embossed it in silver, and cut it in a flag shape and mounted it with a toothpick, to imitate a flag pole ;) few blings to finish off. I am satisfied with the look, hope you like it too.

Design define - adding a real thing from day to day life on the card adds interest to your card, and have kept plenty of white undisturbed.

Ombre flowers and chevrons

Things are settling well here at home after a 6 week break...gearing up for the upcoming academic year which will kick in Monday onwards.  Amidst running errands and tending household chores, I managed to squeeze in a MUST relaxing time by making a card this afternoon after lunch.

I made this card by combining a few challenges together.
For this, I sponged red, orange, and yellow ink creating an ombre and added a flower and chevron stencil to add more ink in the same order.
To finish off I added a red beaded twine and stamped the sentiment from STAMPlorations.

Adding this card to the following:

I chose chevrons, white and twine from the grid combo!

I chose only the picture to work with!

Used red, orange and yellow colors.

Created an ombre overall!

Colourful Chevron

I made this card after seeing the fusion challenge, the colourful chevrons were eye catching.
I had spent a lot of time on this card, but very happy how fabulous it has turned out. Made it yesterday, but couldn't get a good picture since the weather was really cloudy and gloomy the whole day. Managed some pictures today, so sharing it today before I get caught up in my busy day and upcoming school week.
First I had added two panels, colored in ombre, on the card, since I am following a sketch. Then went on to color the chevrons. If you look closely, the changing colors of the chevrons is visible. I don't know how long it took to color ;)
Stamped the sentiment, and wrote 'mom' using stencil.
Added a tiny butterfly and some tiny hearts.
