An upcycled plastic bag

Hey craft peeps, hope all are doing great. I am not very regular on my blog nowadays. Just not crafting much, MOJO is up and running, no issues with that. I think sometimes we just need to take a break ;)

Anyways, I made this card yesterday night.
I was sent some really nice card stocks from Thailand by a friend, the card stocks originates from Goa, India...that is one heck of a journey these have made to reach me!! She sent along some books as well. All these came in a nice pinkish -purple plastic bag. The bag was too pretty to trash, so I was thinking of ways to put use to it.

I had used it for my flowers. I stamped it with emboss ink and heat embossed in silver EP, I let the heat tool, run for a while to become hot, and then very quickly used it over the plastic.
I fussy cut the flowers to add.
The front panel is from the textured card stocks she had sent.
I used mama Elephant - freestyle floral set here, stamped the leaves in SU - wild wasabi, and added the flowers using foam adhesive.
Some jewels and sequins to finish of the design. The sentiment is from Uniko and HLS.

I will send this card to my friend, along with many more cards, her husband is here on a business trip,
I actually love this a lot, it has the right balance of all the elements.

The up-cycled bag, it is a big bag, so many more projects will be made!

A real challenge!

I am in the 4th week of my summer vacation in India. Amidst kids nagging how bored they are, and this and that,  we are gearing up for returning back to home after another 2 weeks!
I really was tempted to make a card yesterday,  and the big problem was that I absolutely have nothing when it comes to supplies here *phew*, I miss my craft station at home :(
I got done some nice custom made stamps here and I have 3 A4size card stocks in blue and purple colors only.
So I decided to try my hand at making a card with what I have.

The supplies I had on hand!

The rainbow and the birds are up cycled.
And finally the humble card I made :) It was very challenging to make this card, but I am very satisfied considering the supplies I had!

Up cycled card

Life is returned to normalcy after a super duper hectic last week running between hospital and home. My son Alfaaz was discharged on Monday afternoon, and today he is back to school. Poor boy missed all his CAT's, luckily it would not affect his final term scores. I am glad that we are in Canadian school and we still have a few more days of school left for this academic year. Thank you all for the good wishes!
Ok now to the card! About 10 days back we got a post from our Internet provider, and  I think it is a happy birthday card? Does not look like a card though. But thought it was perfect for Virginia's View Challenge! click here to see the details of the challenge.
It is made up of vinyl plastic, I carefully pulled it off, and made a tall card using this.
Chose a black background card stock for this. Added the recycling layer and added a button with a twine to finish off.
