Water coloring on black textured card

Hello blogger friends. I am up with an interesting card. You all know that I love coloring on black, but today I chose a black textured card stock to water color, using Chinese painting paints! These are very different from the usual water colors, the pigment is much more saturated in here, so the colors really pop well on the black. I painted on a scrap paper to see the effect, before going with the card.

I used Mama Elephant - freestyle florals, did some masking and stamping using white pigment ink from Lawn fawn. I colored the flowers first, I left it to dry naturally, as the heat tool might have cause the card to warp, which I wanted to avoid, as this being a one layer.
Once the colors were dry, I used a red copic and ran around the outlines of the flowers to give more depth to the design.
Used a green copic and ran on the leaves, I didn't wanted to color these in, as they look lovely just with the outlines.
I then took a calculative risk of stamping the flowers using black ink, I didn't mask this time, as I wasn't looking for defined lines - not usual self!!
The sentiment id from Uniko , I stamped i white and ran the green copic on it. A few gold jewels to finish off. I am very satisfied with this card, I had spent around 3 hours on this simple looking one layer card, can you believe it?

An upcycled plastic bag

Hey craft peeps, hope all are doing great. I am not very regular on my blog nowadays. Just not crafting much, MOJO is up and running, no issues with that. I think sometimes we just need to take a break ;)

Anyways, I made this card yesterday night.
I was sent some really nice card stocks from Thailand by a friend, the card stocks originates from Goa, India...that is one heck of a journey these have made to reach me!! She sent along some books as well. All these came in a nice pinkish -purple plastic bag. The bag was too pretty to trash, so I was thinking of ways to put use to it.

I had used it for my flowers. I stamped it with emboss ink and heat embossed in silver EP, I let the heat tool, run for a while to become hot, and then very quickly used it over the plastic.
I fussy cut the flowers to add.
The front panel is from the textured card stocks she had sent.
I used mama Elephant - freestyle floral set here, stamped the leaves in SU - wild wasabi, and added the flowers using foam adhesive.
Some jewels and sequins to finish of the design. The sentiment is from Uniko and HLS.

I will send this card to my friend, along with many more cards, her husband is here on a business trip,
I actually love this a lot, it has the right balance of all the elements.

The up-cycled bag, it is a big bag, so many more projects will be made!

Fall leaves

Hey peeps, I am up with a card, I was not crafting for last few days, thankfully the MOJO is up and running, just didn't like creating anything.
I made this card yesterday. I went in my craft room to do some sponging, I used a water color paper for sponging, using distress inks - fired brick, vintage photo, forest moss, and mustard seeds. Then sprinkled some water .
I decided to die cut the panel, using Sizzix leaves die.
Now I had the die cut, and didn't had the card base ready, I started in reverse for this card.
I decided to chose a black textured card stock as base, and then use Newton's Nook - winged wishes to stamp the sentiment and birds, used water color paper for this, coloured using the zigs, and fussy cut to add.
I used acrylic paint splatters in yellow and brown on the base card, then added a green burlap on the top, and arranged the sentiment and the birds on the burlap, added the leaves to the base, and done. I love he dramatic look of the autumn/fall colours against the black. Hope you all like it too.
