Butterfly shaker

Happy Wednesday everyone!
I am up with a card which I just finished making it, and since its summer holidays and I have plenty of free time to blog it, so sharing it right away.

Sharing some thing related to this card!
On the last day of the school my daughter came home with her art work, and among that was a water colored background in yellow shades on a A size paper. She said she didn't like the BG so she made another one for her art, and this one was just a scrap. Now I wouldn't let her throw such a a big paper, so I asked her if I could use it, and she was happy to lend me that.
I bet I will be able to use t on over 20 cards!

So the first thing was to start with cutting a piece of that big BG from the watercolor paper for my card. Her BG is in pale yellow, which gives me a lot of room to add my own colors or inks to it. I first started with die cutting a butterfly, and then used a handcut horizontal stripe stencil to ink up further in using Squeezed lemonade distress ink.
I then stamped the sentiment from Casual Friday Stamps - Floating set.
I used yellow sequins from CrafTangles to create the Shaker. The base card is white.
I added the diecut butterfly by inlaying only the middle part of the butterfly and let the wings fly, so that the shaker is also visit well.

A few more sequins on the front to finish off.

  1. Spectacular!! Love the yellow stripes with the beautiful butterfly! I even thought that your pretty butterfly necklace was a part of the card! Haha!! But it does look plenty good without that!
