Card Makers Corner #7

Hello all, I am back with my bimonthly segment today. Today's guest is a very talented crafter, she creates the best chic style cards, and is also an expert in using layers and embellishments. I can never make a card like her, I might have to watch and learn how she makes her gorgeous cards.
Ok, here she is :

Hussena Calcuttawala at quillandpunchworks.blogspot.com

I asked her the same set of question which I always ask, and below is her interview.

1. Please tell us a little about yourself.

1. Hi everyone. I am Hussena from Quill and Punch Works. I am a SAHM to two kids and I love card making and doing altered projects. I have been blogging since last 4-5 years now and I really enjoy playing along challenges and trying out different styles of card making. My base though, has been Quilling which then progressed to Punch-craft, then die-cutting and now more towards stamping!

2. What is crafting to you?
2. Crafting is a stress buster for me, but also it gives me a chance to interact with like minded crafters and getting inspired. Recently, it has become a platform where not only I get to showcase my work, but also get a chance to make new friends.

3. If crafting was not you hobby, what else would be in its place?
3. If I had not taken up crafting, then I would definitely be either into tailoring or interior designing. As you can see, both these professions, do have a base in crafting itself so, I'm actually not doing anything that different. :)

4. Which are the very basic supplies you need to make a card?
4. Definitely some good quality card stock, a nice pair of scissors, my trusted cutting mat and knife, and most importantly good quality adhesive/glue and some basic stamps and ink pads is suffice for me!

5. What is a technique you are not good and want to excel?
5. Paper piecing and masking are techniques which I need to work on..Even watercoloring is not my forte, though I really love doing it :)

6. What is your best technique to you love?
6.Honestly, don't know which my best technique is ..Hmmm maybe layering and embellishing if that is considered a technique ??

7. Which are your all time 3 favourite cards?
Below are her  favorite cards

8. What is one thing we don’t know about you?
8. This is a bit difficult for me ...Let me see ..Okay, I love to read thrillers and horror books and this love also extends to watching thriller movies and television serials too.  I'm a total junkie, I can say! :)

9. What is the piece of advice fro crafters, whether new or seasoned?
9. My piece of advice would be, always try out different techniques and find your own style. It's okay to be inspired by other crafters, but always try putting your own twist to your creations.

10. I know that all crafter are hoarders in some way, which one thing is in your stash and you can buy again and again?
10. I keep buying dies and patterned papers and most recently, stamps. :D

I really hope you had fun reading about Hussena, and isn't her work gorgeous!! Thank you Hussena for being my guest today xx

Thank you for stopping by, I really appreciate your kind  feedback :) Have a great day!
