Hello blogger friends. I am up with an interesting card. You all know that I love coloring on black, but today I chose a black textured card stock to water color, using Chinese painting paints! These are very different from the usual water colors, the pigment is much more saturated in here, so the colors really pop well on the black. I painted on a scrap paper to see the effect, before going with the card.
I used Mama Elephant - freestyle florals, did some masking and stamping using white pigment ink from Lawn fawn. I colored the flowers first, I left it to dry naturally, as the heat tool might have cause the card to warp, which I wanted to avoid, as this being a one layer.
Once the colors were dry, I used a red copic and ran around the outlines of the flowers to give more depth to the design.
Used a green copic and ran on the leaves, I didn't wanted to color these in, as they look lovely just with the outlines.
I then took a calculative risk of stamping the flowers using black ink, I didn't mask this time, as I wasn't looking for defined lines - not usual self!!
The sentiment id from Uniko , I stamped i white and ran the green copic on it. A few gold jewels to finish off. I am very satisfied with this card, I had spent around 3 hours on this simple looking one layer card, can you believe it?

Your three hours are completely worth it, Rahmat! This is really stunning - the watercoloring looks spectacular on the black!! And I think the copic coloring and then the black stamping really paid off! That's really a handy product you've picked up! :)
ReplyDeleteWow! Well done Rahmat! I can't believe you can get that much color intensitiy on black paper. The use of the green Copic on the white stamped image is really interesting and a tidbit I plan on filing away in my brain for 'someday' when I need it. Thank you so much for sharing your project and creativity at 613 Ave C!
