Flowers are on the go

Hey all, I am up with some cards, actually 2 were made a long time back, and one I made yesterday night. I will be taking a short break from my blog this weekend on wards, going to South Korea for a short holiday. So trying to share the ones which are sitting.

The first card is a one layer card using kissing technique, I used Uniko Studio - bold blooms and stamped in red and yellow ink, and then I chose brown and orange ink for the kissing technique.
The stamp I used for kissing is from Kaisercraft - love, live, life text stamp.
I added some splatters using a green distress ink, and black twine on the top, and the sentiment is heat embossed in silver on a black strip. That's it.

I have used red, green , yellow and orange here

The second card was an experiment, a few days back, I was bored and wanted to doodled something, and I ended up doodling the flowers below on a water color paper. I decided to give it a go at the water coloring. I kind of like how it has turned out, not my regular type of card.

A look at the doodled flowers

here is the water colored card. I added some wink of stella on the flowers and leaves for interest, and colored the background using an ochre shade color, a tiny butterfly from STAMPlorations. The sentiment is from Uniko Studio.

The last one is made yesterday night.
I started with a white base, and used the grey distress ink, sorry I keep forgetting the names of the inks, I don't sit in my craft room for writing the posts.
I sponged the grey ink using the bubble stencil from ARTplorations.
The flowers on the front panel were stamped and sent to me last year from a bloggy friend - Monika.
I chose markers to color the image, and then added the panel, I chose a vellum strip to add to the bottom, this was sent few days back , it is from another bloggy friend - Cara. I feel very fortunate to have some good friends on the blog land.
I stamped the sentiment from STAMPlorations - Trendy feathers on a black strip. a few black jewels to finish off.

Hope necklace and a recyled card

Hey all, hope you all are doing great. I am up with 2 cards, which I made yesterday, even though I have  a backlog of cards to be posted, I decided to post these 2 first.

The first one is a very quick and simple one, I received the hope die from CAS-ual Friday stamps, 2 days back. I wanted to use it a a pendant, so went with stitching.  I die cut the die using a heavy silver card stock.
I chose all whites as I wanted to keep it monochromatic. I chose a pink shaded embroidery thread to add the stitches. I doodled the string part. I decided to add the die in the stitch itself, to make it look like a pendant, and yes it hangs and moves just like a pendant. It is secured well with the stitch. A few silver jewels to finish off. Hope you like this simple card. OOPs almost forgot that I stamped the other part of the sentiment using worn lipstick, it gives a shaded look to match my thread.

Here is a look at my doodling.

The second card is a made by recycling some flowers from the chocolate box. These flowers were way too pretty for me to trash it. So I fussy cut the flowers, believe me just to cut a small section precisely took me more than half an hour. The previous card with sewing took me about 10 mins.
Anyways, once the flowers branch was cut. I used leaves from Altenew - vintage roses, and stamped in a dark green shade. Then I used ARTplorations bubble stencil to add yellow ink on the card. I also added some splatters using a green distress ink. The sentiment is from Altenew vintage roses set, and is heat embossed in silver on a black strip, I used foam adhesive to add. I used quite a few gold jewels to finish of the card, I am loving this one a lot, so glad I recycled the box.

Water colored cosmos

hey all, I will be sharing a couple o cards in different posts today. It just happened that all are flower cards, I am simply into flowers.

Ok, for this card, I randomly stamped the Uniko studio - cosmos using carved pumpkin distress ink, and then simply used the same ink to add color, and I also used water color markers to add color, and to draw an outline to the flowers. the leaves are from ME- Freestyle florals, I stamped in green DI and watercolored those using the same, the small stamps are also from ME. The sentiment is from Uniko studio and HLS. I used a pale green textured base for the front.

The second one is a simple card made using some distress ink swooshing technique. I stamped some stars on it. I framed the panel with a gold card stock. The sentiments are from STAMPlorations - 2 different sets. The frame looks distorted in the picture, but I tell you it's pretty straight in real.

Calling all sistahs - July blog hop & a short poem penned by me :)

Hello blogger peeps, you might have arrived her from Penny Ward . Starting the 17th of this month on I will be part of the blog hop for "Calling all sistahs". It is a monthly hop which happens on the 17th of every month.
This hop is to encourage our sistahs to do their monthly breast self-exams and yearly mammogram.

You can read all about it here.
Each blog stop on the hop will feature something from
the special collection Michele created shortly after she was diagnosed last year.
50% of the profits from this collection are donated to
breast cancer awareness programs at

There will be a $15 Gift Certificate given to 3 people that comment along the hop.
Comments close on July 19th @ 12am EST.

In my hop, I will talk about the people I have come across, who dealt with breast cancer. Most of them are success stories, except for one, I will talk about one person in my hop day post.

Even though I was aware of breast cancer for along time, but it was in 2004 when I first heard of someone suffering from it. I was living in Indonesia, and it was my friend's sister who was diagnosed with breast cancer. She successfully beat it, she had surgery and chemo sessions. This was my first time, someone in my proximity had dealt and succeed in beating the cancer.

For my card, I had used CAS-ual Friday - hope ribbon stamps. I started with a water color paper, and used blue and red shades of distress inks to ink the panel, Once the inking was done, I sprinkled some mist on it.  I added a gold card to frame it from the sides. Then I used the hope ribbon stamp and heat embossed it on vellum in white EP. I stamped the hope sentiment sideways on the base card, and the rest of the sentiment on a black strip using a white ink. Didn't feel like adding any other embellishments, I am quite happy with the card.

Here is the order of the hop, except for the first and last stop, the names are in alphabetical order this time.

Here is the hop order:

Please leave some love along the way

Happy Hopping!

Before I go I would like to share a poem penned by me , almost 2 years back. I hope you guys like it.
My kids and me, we three are voracious readers, I have my masters in literature, and I enjoy poetry in English, Hindi and Urdu. My 14 year old daughter is the one who loves writing both prose and poetry. I gave my hand at writing inspired by her, but currently it's not on my agenda (So far I wrote only 2 poems). Hubby dear offered to publish a book, if I pen down my recipes, that offer is sitting for a decade now!!! Who knows I might cash in one day!!..but i don't think it will be a cookbook ;)

              Hope

Hope is like a shimmering light
for someone at the dark tunnel.
Hope is like an Oxygen mask
for someone who is breathless.
Hope is like a shining tomorrow
for someone's gloomy yesterday.
Hope is like a musical
for someone who is tired of dramas.
Hope is everything
for someone who has nothing.

Thank you for staying with me, even though it is a long post.

Your next hop is  Shona Chambers.

A quick post

Hey all, a super quick post. This card is waiting foe a couple of days to be shared.
I was inspired by the CTS sketch for this one.
I used a vanilla base, and stamped the tiny butterflies from STAMPlorations - trendy butterflies.
The I used a fine tip black marker to draw the lines to mimic thin stripes.
The big butterfly is from Uniko Studio, I stamped and colored it using markers, the sentiment is from STAMPlorations. I finished off with some splatters using the candied apple DI.
