Stitches and stickers

Hello everyone, I am posting after a few days. Actually I am having computer issues, as my laptop has given up. I was using my daughter's one for last few months, but the school started yesterday, and they need to tale their devices to school!!
Now I have an ultra sophisticated Alien-ware PC, which belongs to my son at home. It is windows based, and I am quite good using different OS, but the ambience is just not for me. He has 2 monitors and the mouse and keyboard, Oh dear, I don't want to go in detail of it.
I had to watermark my card on my phone today!! I will post this card, and will have to think of an alternative to using this PC.
I apologize for not visiting anyone's blog. I don't find it very convenient to comment using phone, please wait few more days!!

Ok to my card. I just made this, it took me less than 10 minutes to make this card. I used all whites here. I wanted to add stitches, so after going though my stash, I couldn't find any suitable stamp for this, so I decided that it is better to draw something myself to add stitches. I did some freehand doodling, and added the stitches using green thread, and then used stickers flowers, and butterflies to complete the floral scene.
A few gold jewels to finish off. The sentiment is from Steve fadie, and stamped it on the base, the front is simply adhered to the base, no foams used this time. I  love the look of it, and hope find it interesting too.

Tranquil tides

Hey crafty peeps, hope the weekend has started on a good note for all of you. I thought of sharing a card which I made using some NBUS - Newton's Nook stamps. This card was made 4 days.
I used distress inks for the background sea water, after sponging I sprinkled some water to get the bubbles in the sea. I used white pigment ink to stamp the shell. The coral is stamped in 4 different shades and fussy cut to add to the scene. The card base is a textured yellowish shade. I stamped the star fish at the base, and the fish is heat embossed in gold, the sentiment is also from the same set.

A tag and a colorful zebra

Good morning/day blogger peeps.
I am up with a tag and a CAS card.

First the tag, you all must already know that I make only cards 99.99%. I feel very challenged at making tags, but I do give it a try every now and then. I bought a tag die also few months back, but I seldom use it. Today, I have recycled a tag, I feel bad for saving all the tags, and not using it! While organizing my stash, I found the tags from Roxy, so thought of using it.

I used a water color paper and sponged the broken china ink, and then I sponged fired brick, vintage photo, mustard seed, and forest moss on another piece of water color paper. Once the sponging was done, I sprinkled some water. Used a leaf stamp from small stamps, and stamped in black, fussy cut it to add to the tag. The sentiment is from Waffle flower, and so is the dragonfly.
A few jewels to finish off. I used a bamboo straw from my stash as string.

The second one is also made using waffle Flower monochromatic set. It is a fun and quirky car, I hope you all get the idea ;)
I first stamped the Zebra on a water color paper, and used zigs to add color. Then used Tim Holtz wood-grain stencil to add the black color the stencil to mimic a reflection. The sentiment is also from the same set.
A few black jewels to finish off.

Soft colored Lotuses, and the connection to challenges and me :)

Hello blogger peeps. I am up with a card which I made 2 days back.

Before I go to my card, I wanted to share something. Yesterday I had a comment from bloggy friend Suchi, and I was smiling through the comment, she is very sweet, and leaves comments on almost all of my entries. Well the comment was that, she likes the way I link to the challenges, and she said it is a challenge within itself!!! lol.....I thought I would share my process of adding the challenges.
Firstly, it is always the card which is made first, I might be inspired by just one challenge when I start, or sometimes no challenges. Once I am ready to post, I sit through and look at the various challenges. I usually link one card to a max of 5 challenges, but there are exceptions sometimes, I have a card which fits many challenges, even up to 8-9. I think 9 is my max, I have ever linked a card, of course provided that no challenge has any problems with linking to so many. Sometimes I just link to one, and even none, and simply share the card.
I believe, all the challenges out there need participants to run their challenge, if people don't link, then it is not worth to run a challenge. It takes lots of efforts to run a challenge, and let's remember nobody gets paid for that job!
I do admit, sometimes the inspiration from challenges is helpful in coming up with a certain card. I simply choose to link, so that I can show my support to the challenges!!!

While I am on it, I would like to address another thing, I read on Darnell's blog about NBUS, somebody mentioning to her that the people participate there just to win prizes. My thoughts, I already commented on Darnell's post as well - I participate in the challenges for sheer fun, of course I would be more than happy to win, and maybe a prize if there is one, and I have been lucky to win quite a few prizes. But I don't even look at the prizes when I link a card, sometimes I like that challenge a lot, or the theme, or the person running the challenges. Most of us, card making people have quite a few supplies, even me for whom it is very difficult to get my hands on the supplies. As some of you know my difficulties, I cannot do online shopping, I travel to Hong Kong to get my supplies.
I know that the crafting community is quite extraordinarily supporting, but there are times when people try to spoil the fun by saying unnecessary things. I would love it if people try to be understanding, and encouraging.

I love to share my cards, and I am very happy to have come across so many kind people, who have always left me encouraging and kind comments, no matter how good or bad my cards have been. A big thank you to all, who take time to stop by. I am bit tied up with the summer holidays, I will get back to commenting hopefully by next week. Let's keep encouraging one another.

Ok, those who are still with me ;) here is the card without any further delay.
I used Waffle Flower Lotus stamp here. Heat embossed in white, and then used the zigs to add color. I had fuzzy cut only the top here. I sponged the bottom of the base card using a blue shade ink and then added a paper tape, my daughter bought this for me last week , while shopping for her stationery.
I also used stencils on the base from ARTplorations bubble in green and blue.
The sentiment is from ME  - Lunar extras. I am still adding the Chinese sentiments, as I told you few days back that I will be delivering these to my store , made particularly for the local peeps here.
A few blue jewels to finish off.

Sunshine and roses

Hello friends, I am up with 2 cards.
The first one is a one layer bright and cheery card.
I used Mustard seed distress ink and Hero Arts Neon Sunshine ink to sponge using the bubble stenvil from ARTplorations.
Once happy with the stenciling, I added a gold strip, and stamped the sentiment from Avery Elle - Get well set, and the balloon from Avery Elle - Giraffe balloon. I drew the string.
I love how this card looks.

I have used a balloon silhouette, hoping that all it will qualify as CAS with all the stenciling.

Feathers and flowers

Happy Monday everyone, this is our last week of school holidays. The kiddos will start school next Tuesday!! Cannot believe that now I have 2 high-school kiddos :O . My daughter started her grade 1 here, and she is in grade 10 now, and my son started his grade2 and in grade 11, the time passed by in a blink!!! So much has happened and changed in the last few years. I was barely 30 when I first arrived here,  my kiddos were upto my waist, and now both are quite taller than me!!! I miss the toddler days so badly!! I thought when they would grow up, I would worry bit less, but my worries for them have grown with their age. Now the BIG worry is thinking about college!! It is barely within an year that my son will have to start applying for college, he already wrote PSAT last year, this year he will write SATs.
Sorry to take you all off topic, I guess I got bit carried away.

Ok to the cards now. Sharing 2, I have quite a few waiting to see the light.
The first one is made almost 2 weeks back. Finally sharing it today. It was made inspired by the STAMPlorations CAS challenge.
I chose all whites here, used the trendy feathers and heat embossed in gold, and then cut it along the edge, and added a gold strip on the base, and the front is added, the sentiment is also from STAMPloration, other set...I forgot the name. It is very simple card.

The second card is also sitting for about a week.  I started with a water color paper and heat embossed the Mama elephant - freestyle florals in white embossing powder, and then used the zigmarkers to add color.
I stamped the circles strip using Uniko Studio - geometric stamps.
The sentiment is from CASual Fridays - hope ribbon set. I felt something was missing, so added the hearts tape to match up with the sentiment on the top. A few jewels to finish off

A CASE and a rainbow card

Hello friends, I am up with 2 cards today. Both are CAS cards.

The first one is a rainbow card, I came up with the sentiment on my own. As I had this crazy idea of a brick rainbow, and I needed the words to match. I hope the sentiment makes sense, I created it on computer, and printed off. Then I used the WeRMemoryKeepers nestled circle to draw few circles, not a complete rainbow, it is under-making!! ;) I hope you can see the bricks in the rainbow.
I used the Lawn Fawn stitched cloud dies to dry emboss the front, and stamped the Chinese sentiment from Mama Elephant - lunar extras, it means - Good Luck.
Added a glitter strip at the bottom, and a few jewels to finish off.  I am very satisfied with the finished look of this card, came out how I had pictured in my head!!

The second one is inspired by a CASE at CASEplorations.
I chose Uniko Studio stamps here, I started with stamping the background in black using the geometric stamps first.
Then stamped the cosmos on a water color paper, and used Staedtler water brush markers to water color the flowers. They work exactly like the zigs, and the good thing is that I can find these in Macau, and I have many shades of these.
The flowers are fussy cut to add using a foam adhesive. I added some splatters on the base. The sentiment is from ME- lunar extras and added in Coral calypso from SU.
A broad gold glitter strip, and few jewels to finish off.

Calling all Sistahs - August Blog Hop

Hello everyone, You must have come here from Diane's blog.
It is the 17th of the month, and I am once again part of the blog hop for the Breast cancer awareness, and reminder hop.

You can read all about it herehttp://cas-ualfridaysstamps.blogspot.com/p/calling-all-sistahs.html.
Each blog stop on the hop will feature something from
the special collection Michele created shortly after she was diagnosed last year.
50% of the profits from this collection are donated to
breast cancer awareness programs at

There will be a $15 Gift Certificate given to 3 people that comment along the hop.
Comments close on July 19th @ 12am EST.
As I told you last time, every hop I will share about one person I have come across, who is dealing/dealt with cancer.
Well, the second person, I came to know about was my sister-in-law's mother. This was back in 2005, she was in here early 50's, and she went through chemo therapy. I think it took about 2 years to beat it, but she did it, with the help of her family. She is healthy and doing great, and enjoying her time with her grand-kids.

For my card, I again chose the Hope ribbon stamp. I started with drawing some streaks using a zig marker on a water color paper, and used the water brush to blend and create the background. Then I used Pickled raspberry DI to stamp the ribbon. I decided to do some sewing, so added stitches using a shaded pink thread. Rounded the corners of the panel, and framed it with a black card stock, and used foam adhesive to add to the base, the reminder sentiment is from Kaisercraft. I also added a vellum border, sent to me by a bloggy friend - Cara :) .

A close up at the stitching.
