A flower basket

Hello everyone! I hope the weekend has kick started on a good note for everyone.
I spent the morning in a mall, to buy a formal suit for my 14 year old son, who will be performing for his school's music band soon. From buying baby clothes and toys to formal suits , - we have indeed come a long way in just a couple of years! I am very happy today, just by looking at him :D

I am sharing a card which I started a couple of days back, and I was kind of stuck with it, so left it unfinished for these many days. Yesterday I finally came around and finished it. I don't know if it happens to anyone, but I have few cards in my stash, on which I get stuck half way, and go back finish them later. Thankfully, it doesn't happen a lot!

I started it as a one layer card, I drew the basket - my freehand doodling, including the handle, and then I added the sunflowers in brown, these flowers are from my custom made stamps. Then I went on to color the sunflower and the basket, I tried my best to color it to give a realistic look, and I think I had some success with it ;)
I was stuck here, and left it like that for many days.
I decided to add the sentiment on vellum and heat embossed it. This sentiment is from Kaisercraft, and I also added a bow to the basket handle.
Its a simple card, hope you like it.

  1. leaving the card for a few days obviously helped! And adding the sentiment on the vellum was perfect and works in with our sketch perfectly. Great to see you at Uniko and good luck with the draw x
