Sharing 2 cards which I finished making now, was busy at home front, so took break from cards, and had to make some today.
The first one up is Chinese themed card, I am living in China for many years now, and I know one thing that I cannot use my usual white color on this card! Its a big NO, they don't like white on happy occasions as far as I know, even white envelopes!
Since I will be giving it to one of my Chinese friends, I am sticking to the basic rules of colors.
I chose a oriental fans, pattern paper to work with, bought at a local stationary store, added a red panel, and fuzzy cut a branch myself, added some punched cherry blossoms. Avery Elle handwritten sentiments to finish off the card, and rhine stones for the blossom centers.

I have used pattern paper on my card.
Used Avery Elle handwritten notes stamps.

The second one up is inspired my darling daughter's art work for school! I saw her working on her art book title page this morning, She used colored tissues to create a title page for her art book. When I saw her work, I was really impressed, and I was tempted to use it on one of the cards, so here it is.
I started of with a textured card base, and added a vanilla front panel. Then I sponged some leaves using a stencil and brown ink. After that I went in to adhere randomly torn tissue papers on to the front panel in different colors, I had to borrow some of these tissue papers from my daughter!
Later on stamped one of my custom made flower stamps, and colored and fuzzy cut it, it was bit tricky and time consuming, since I decided to add the sentiment on the stamped image and wanted to cut together. used a foam adhesive to give dimension to the flower and the sentiment panel.

I have used markers, tissues, and stamps on my card, and used autumn colors.
I have used Autumn colors, since I made it as a unisex card, I thought of adding it here, I understand if it doesn't suit this challenge :)
AUTUMN/FALL
I have created the center panel and the flower and sentiment is my front, and used STAMPlorations stamp.

Adding the picture of my daughter's work, which inspired me to use the tissue paper on my card!

ReplyDeleteSo glad to know I'm not the only one who gets design ideas from their daughter!!! Her notebook looks incredible! I've never seen tissue used like that before, looks so pretty. And your oriental card is stunning! I never knew about white not being allowed on a card, so glad I read this before I start to make mine. Could be quite hard for me (you know how much I like white space) but will give it a go. Also thank you so much for your lovely comments on my blog. I really enjoy visiting your blog too. Thank goodness for the internet, such a good way to meet other lovely crafters on the otherside of the world that you normally wouldn't meet at all.
