Embroidered card

This is a very special card for me. I have combined my two hobbies - cards and embroidery for this project.
I have done embroidery on cards earlier too, but that was on the card stock itself, but never got a chance to share, I didn't had a blog back then. This time I have tried something different. I did my embroidery on fabric, and then used it on the card.
I don't remember when was the last time I used my embroidery threads and needle. Thanks to Virginia's challenge, I used it today.
Firstly, I hand drew my basket (of lately I am into drawing my own images, since I don't own too many stamps) and embroidered it using a golden brown thread, and used the french knot stitches for the roses, and some other stitches (not going into the details of the stitches) to finish up.
Stamped the sentiment 'love you', and used stencils for 'mom'. Finally added a tiny bloom with the palm twine.
I just want the embroidered flower basket to be the focus of this card, so didn't feel like adding anything else.

Glued the embroidered patch on a white card stock, followed by a shimmery golden card stock.

A closer look at the bloom and twine.

The Process:
Finished drawing the basket, I did freehand embroidery for the flowers and leaves, didn't feel the need to draw.

done!

Doing the french knot for the roses. Used color shaded threads for the embroidery.

Ready to be ironed and cut!

I am so glad that there are challenges which call for thread and needles too!
