Muse inspired

Hey all, a quick share. I made this card this morning after breakfast, then got really busy. My kids are going to Japan in next few days, and my son happens to go for skiing for his experience week with school, we bought him some skiing gear. My daughter is also going to Japan, but hers is many cities through the week, but no skiing...but still need those big heavy winter gears. Did shopping , and stopped by hubby's hotel for lunch. My kiddos like the buffet here, well Four Seasons is pretty popular for its food. Followed by some grocery shopping, and finally home, and needed some me time, so sat down to write this post....before I start cooking dinner....hah some days are crazy.

Ok to the card, I am making one for Muse, actually I made another card yesterday, but I don't know why I don't see myself in there, so not going to link that.
This is a one layer card.I masked the top, and I used a home made stencil for this, and inked up squeezed lemonade distress ink for the vertical columns. Then used AlteNew - lacy scroll, and stamped using the same ink, and doodled the stem, and stamped the leaves from the same set.
The sentiment is from 2 different brands, adding a picture of the sets.
A few rhine stones to finish off.
Adding 2 pictures again, as I couldn't decide on the right prop for the picture ;)

My hand cut stencil, all ready to be inked up
 Used "awesome" from this set
 and the rest from here.

I was certainly inspired by the warm yellow here, but using a different shade. I also like how the flower is placed and the sentiment as well. Slightly different take than Jenni's beautiful card.

Another entry with distressed ink, some challenges get the best of me..couldn't think of a card for the last week's cue.

ATSM #178

Hello all, it's Wednesday and time for a new challenge at ATSM. Today's Challenge is holiday - you can make anything for any holiday.
The sponsor for this challenge is

DRS Designs, and the winner will get $10 gift certificate.

For my card, I chose Valentine theme to do. It is a one layer card. I used Wplus9 stamps for this, I have just chosen black and red to work with. I did some masking and sponging too. A very simple card to put together.

A bookmark

This is my first ever bookmark,  I am not into tags. I made it for my kids,  both are voracious readers, and I am crazy about books too. My home is like a books galore! I can never walk out of a bookstore empty handed,  and both my kids know my weakness....lol

Just editing to add this, I gave this tag to my daughter when she got home from school, and she said, "Just a tag?, it would be nice to give it along with a book....hahaaa just kidding mama!".

Ok onto the bookmark now. I used the face paints yet again to create the scene.
Colored black and smoothed out with baby wipes. Used red and yellow to create the sunset scene. Then added white paint and smudged it with finger to fade the colors a bit.
For the tree, I used my daughter's Chinese calligraphy brush, again! Just ignore the person I drew ;)
And the quote,  I wrote it myself. I know I don't really have a fancy writing,  but the message is what is important and my kids will appreciate the words more than the writing.
Recycled a ribbon for the tag.
I cannot believe it but it took me more time to make this bookmark than a card.

The face paints I used, these are lying around my home for years and no one using it.

Finally, this is how you actually use a Chinese calligraphy brush - to write the Chinese characters(if anyone is wondering ).
This is my daughter's work, she made it for me... she likes to doodle around a lot..... if you focus, you can see what it means, she wrote it in English too.
It says "I love you" :)

Thank you for stopping by, I appreciate your feedback, if you are not in a hurry :) Have a great day!
