Hello everyone, sharing a card which I made yesterday night out of blue. There was no plan to make this card, was still cooking in my head, and then there I was in my craft room, making it ;)
If you are following me for a long time, then you all know that I am bit crazy about paper weaving. I haven't done it almost in a year time, but the picture from Waffle Flower was sitting in my head, specially the basket, I knew I would be doing paper weaving, when I saw this inspiration picture.
I first started with strips of card stock in kraft, and did the weaving, No round basket this time, I intended to do a square one.
The next step was to stamp the lotus buds from Waffle Flower in squeezed lemonade and heat embossed it using clear EP on a water color paper, followed by using the same ink and water coloring the buds. Once the coloring was done, I fussy cut the flowers. The flower arrangement, believe it or not, took some time, till I was content with the look ;) I used some felt leaves too.The flowers are added with foam adhesive, but the leaves and basket are added with double sided tape.
A few matching sequins to finish off. The sentiment is also from Waffle Flower - lotus.
Wait a sec, I also stamped a tiny dragonfly using the same ink near the sentiment.
Before clicking the picture this morning, I felt that it needed some more drama on it ;) so did a light sponging at the bottom using wild wasabi from SU.
I am glad it is very CAS despite so many elements on it. I really hope you all like it.
Now only if the weather was as bright as this card!! Currently we have another cold spell, and the temperature dip to 9, and feel like was 3 this morning, with rain and humidity upto 99%. I am really hoping that we are done with cold after this spell, and the sun has disappeared too :O
The embossing on the water color paper, ready to water color it!
Adding this with:
CAS Mix Up Card Challenge
I have stamping, watercolouring, and paper weaving on my card.

On Children
- Kahlil Gibran
Your children are not your children.- The end
They are the sons and daughters of Life's longing for itself.
They come through you but not from you,
And though they are with you yet they belong not to you.
You may give them your love but not your thoughts,
For they have their own thoughts.
You may house their bodies but not their souls,
For their souls dwell in the house of tomorrow,
which you cannot visit, not even in your dreams.
You may strive to be like them,
but seek not to make them like you.
For life goes not backward nor tarries with yesterday.
You are the bows from which your children
as living arrows are sent forth.
The archer sees the mark upon the path of the infinite,
and He bends you with His might
that His arrows may go swift and far.
Let your bending in the archer's hand be for gladness;
For even as He loves the arrow that flies,
so He loves also the bow that is stable.
